2. Data processed
We may process identification and contact details, account data, billing and order information, country, course access and progress, support communications, Help Chat messages, cookie preferences and technical security logs. ES-Academia does not store full card details; these are processed by the selected payment provider.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Performance of a contract: orders, payments, invoices, account creation and course delivery.
- Legal obligations: tax, accounting, consumer protection and fraud-prevention duties.
- Consent: marketing communications, non-essential cookies and optional functions.
- Legitimate interests: security, abuse prevention, support and service improvement, subject to users’ rights.
4. Recipients and processors
Data is shared only where necessary with hosting, email, maintenance, consented analytics and learning-management providers; WooCommerce/WooPayments and their payment partners; PayPal, Klarna or another payment method selected by the customer; and public authorities where legally required.
If the user chooses to use the Help Chat, submitted text may be processed by OpenAI artificial-intelligence services to generate a response. Users must not submit passwords, full card numbers, identity documents or other particularly sensitive information through the chat.
Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, appropriate legal safeguards will be used, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.
5. Retention
Data is retained for the contractual relationship and afterwards for applicable tax, accounting, consumer and liability periods. Data based solely on consent is retained until consent is withdrawn, unless a legal duty requires longer retention.
6. Rights
Users may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and may withdraw consent, by writing to info@esacademia.com. A complaint may also be lodged with the Spanish Data Protection Agency.
7. Children
A purchase must be made by an adult or legal representative. Minors must not provide personal data or purchase a course without a parent or guardian.
8. Security
ES-Academia applies reasonable security and access-control measures. Users should choose a strong password and keep it confidential.
9. Cookies
Necessary cookies support the site, sessions and purchases. Non-essential cookies are used only in accordance with choices made in the consent panel.
10. Updates
This policy may be updated to reflect legal or technical changes. The current version is the one published on this page.
